A (nearly) Deserted Warehouse.

[Narrator]

In a small corner of one of the many deserted, dilapidated buildings in London, two people were sitting inside a rough tent made out of several pieces of black fabric. At first glance, it looked like a ordinary squat. At second glance the scanners, weapons and high-end electronics called that into question. Suddenly, one of the devices started beeping.

[Taliesin]

"Wha the.....Rach, take a look at this fucking thing."

[Reaper]

"Holy fuck." Reaper swore "Massive mutant signatures."

[Taliesin]

"That, or the damn thing is on the fritz again. They WEREN'T here a moment ago.

It's not picking up any 'portation, either."

[Reaper]

"New manifestation...no, there are too many for that. Unless its an experiment...." Rachel said, frowning at the machine."

[Taliesin]

"I don't like it. It's a trap; it has to be. This number of new targets simply do NOT occur."

[Reaper]

"And if it isn't?" Rachel demanded.

[Taliesin]

"It is," Will said, dusting himself off and standing up.

"That doesn't change anything, of course. It's the bait I care about."

[Reaper]

"Sorry." Reaper said, shaking her head "Dealing with the New Front always puts me in a shitty mood."

[Taliesin]

"Because everything's peaches and sunshine, otherwise, in all our free time."

[Reaper]

"An puppies shitting rainbows." Reaper said, with something that a shark might have called a smile.

[Taliesin]

Will closed his eyes, and crossed himself.

"We got a readout on the fuzz?"

[Reaper]

"No movement, yet." Reaper replied, looking at another screen "If we move now, we might be able to beat them."

[Taliesin]

"Whenever the coast is clear," he said, looking at her, expectantly.

[Reaper]

"No one in the area." Reaper replied "Ready to be a jacket?"

[Taliesin]

"Oh, god," Will rolled his eyes. "Yes, I'm ready to be the damn jacket."

[Reaper]

"Hey, I'd be cool with a thong." Reaper said, a hint of amusement in her voice.

[Taliesin]

Will shot her a look of repugnance, free of any humor.

"Right, because I enjoy having my face up your crack seeing how well you wipe."

[Reaper]

"See, it could be worse." Rachel said, holding out her arms. "It could always be worse."

[Robin Stanton]

There's the clang of metal being sat down on concrete outside the tent and a moment later a white-haired woman steps inside, carrying a bunch of scavenged technical equipment.

[Taliesin]

"Good girl, but we've got bigger priorities at the moment."

[Robin Stanton]

"Yeah well when don't we?" she mumbles as she dumps the stuff into a crate of spare parts.

[Taliesin]

"Tons of blips. We gotta get going, and we gotta do it 20 minutes ago. Gear up," Will said, before collapsing into Rachel's arms, jacket-like.

[Reaper]

Reaper grabbed a satchel by the door and slung it over her shoulders, then closed her eyes. "I gave her the location." she announced "Byrna will meet us there."

[Robin Stanton]

Robin silently apes the 'Gear up' as she follows the two outside.

[Dead End]

"I'll keep an eye on you three, as usual. Don't take chances. You know I won't."

Byrna's voice came clear over their headsets.
