April 7, Wandering the Castle

[Melody Martens]

Melody hugged her arms around herself, slightly chilly as she walked through the halls of the old castle, looking at the odd mixture of modern electronics crudely affixed throughout the building that was hundreds of years old. She'd been playing over the events of the past few days in her head over and over again, and couldn't shake some of the images that she'd seen.

[Alyson Gregory]

"Hey." Alyson said, looking somber.

[Melody Martens]

Melody turned from the decorative suit of armor that she'd been regarding and managed a cheerful smile. "Hi Alyson. How're you holding up?"

[Alyson Gregory]

"Not that great." Alyson said "You?"

[Melody Martens]

"I think that makes most of us," she smirked humorlessly.

[Alyson Gregory]

"This future totally sucks." Alyson said.

[Melody Martens]

"I'm not really sure anything could have prepared us for this shithole either," she sighed. "I can't get the things I saw at that god damned hospital out of my head. The creepy things living there...Felana killing the witch...the...god the kids." She shivered visibly.

[Alyson Gregory]

"Yeah." Alyson said "I really, really hate it when its kids."

[Melody Martens]

She sighed, "At least I've generally made myself useful while we've been here. Seems like we'll never not need things blown up."

[Alyson Gregory]

"Yeah." Alyson said "that explosion at the lab was pretty awesome."

[Melody Martens]

"My bombs are getting better. A year ago, I didn't think I'd ever be able to make an explosion that big. You're a tk, right?"

[Alyson Gregory]

"Yeah, more or less." Alyson said "It was tactile TK, until y'know, I almost died. Now I can move stuff around, a little bit."

[Melody Martens]

"That's right you were one of the ones who got sick...glad you're feeling better...sorry you're doing it here," she sighed.

[Alyson Gregory]

"Yeah, kinda puts the whole 'not dying' thing into perspective."

[Melody Martens]

"What do you think our chances of getting back to where we belong are?" she asked somberly after a long pause during which she regarded the suit of armor in front of her again.

[Alyson Gregory]

"Honestly? I think we need to plan on staying here a long damn time."

[Melody Martens]

Melody sighed, "Yeah..."

She let out a brief snort of laughter, "Figures I finally get a boyfriend and barely a week later I fall off the planet."

[Alyson Gregory]

"Tell me about it." Alyson said "I finally get back on track with my girl, and then this shit happens."

[Melody Martens]

((I fail--been super busy lately))

"Almost everyone I'm close with back home is dead here...haven't really tried to get to know the locals either. Sort of got to know Daniel our first night here, but no one really seems to like him, and he's preoccupied with...well, being angry about the hospital, and before then, getting close to Steph...so I've kinda just kept to myself," Melody sighed.

[Alyson Gregory]

"Yeah, its tough." Alyson said. "I've been pretty quiet too. Its a lot to think about."

[Melody Martens]

"well at least us quiet types can stick together, right?" she smiled lightly.

[Alyson Gregory]

"Yeah." Alyson said " 'Cause I've got a bad feeling we're going to be here a long time."

[Melody Martens]

Melody sighed, biting her lip slightly, "Yeah..."

While she knew that fact was probably true, hearing it still took some of the wind out of her sails.

"Glad we bumped into each other at least."

[Alyson Gregory]

"Yeah, its good." Alyson said "Sorry to be such a downer. I'm just missing my girl."

[Melody Martens]

"I miss Derek. Barely even dating, and we're here...and of course, I've already fucked things up... got absolutely shitfaced with Daniel on our first night here, and we definitely started fooling around. Then I called him Derek. At least nothing more serious happened." she sighed.

[Alyson Gregory]

"People do stupid shit." Alyson said "If he's worth being with, he'll forgive you."

[Melody Martens]

"Yeah...I suppose your right. I guess we've got a pretty good excuse, being stuck in the future and all."
