She lets out a sharp laugh. "Hardly. But I'd prefer if you took me up on my invitation before I have to beat you into a pulp."

"What is it with you people and your bloody offers? It's always something daft like 'tell me how to defeat you' or 'help me take over the world.'"

"So what is it you're inviting us to?" John inquired.

"My townhouse. And if you can restrain yourselves from punching someone there might even be tea and crumpets."

"Guaranteed safe passage both entering, exiting, and while on the property?" Renko asked.

"Sure." For most of you anyway...

"This reeks of walking into a trap," she whispered into her comm link.

"What choice do we really have? We're pretty well outnumbered," John whispered back.

"I don't buy this at all. This is very not groovy.."

Bear kept two spheres at the ready, circling around at the opponents.

"And we won't be back at her place? Who's to say there won't be even more of those things AND other backup. Not to mention even unfriendlier terrain."

"Point taken."

"Anyone have a plan?" he whispered.

"Slow them down then run?" Renko asked quietly.

"I'd like that one more if we were certain we knew where we were going. Can you really slow them all down? Or speed us all up?" she asked through the link.

"You still haven't given us much reason to take your word," she called out.

"You're on the run from the General's forces. Enemy of my enemy."

"Enemy of our enemy of our enemy," Will squeaked out, in a tiny voice.

"Don't let her get to you," Captain Britain said to Will and Sara, grunting as she flung the last remaining Legionnaire from her.

"She wouldn't have brought so many if she wasn't worried about us being here too..."

"Well? I'm not the most patient woman."

"Does that mean you think we have a shot?" he radioed to Cap.

"If it puts you at easy, I had a very civil and fruitful talk with your red-headed shapeshifting telepath friend when she came to me asking for help."

"And right now two of mine and one of yours need help. Unlike you, I can fix him." she adds not without a certain condescension, nodding at Sara and the baked Will.

"Wha?"

"He doesn't need your help. He'll be fine!"

"Oh this happened before then? You know what happened there? Did you already analyze how severe the damage is? No, you have no clue because you prefer to hug him instead of doing something useful."

Sara wants to respond with something clever but she just ends up with her mouth hanging open for a second or so before closing it again.

Melody sighed into the radio. "I still don't like this, but I'm deferring to Cap or Will."

bear frowned in frustration, getting over the shock of her insane twin.

"We won't get far with will in the shape he is.."
