Picking Up the Pieces

Postby Janice Gilbertson » Fri Sep 23, 2011 6:19 pm

Captain Britain caught her breath at a culvert opening into the Thames. Keeping the rubble off of them had taxed her dearly, and she looked out at the nightmarish vision of London they were in.

"Will I'm... I'm sorry," she said, though it didn't feel good enough.

Will turned around, looking surprisingly calm, and sat down, staring at where the tunnel had collapsed behind them.

Renko sat down on a rock outside the sewer or was it a piece of rubble? He held his head in his hands looking a bit tired.

Will couldn't have gotten more of a reaction if he'd walked up to her and stabbed her in the chest. Her eyes went wide and she stumbles backwards.

"...No. No, no, no," Stitch says, sounding desperate, "Don't say that! You don't know what it means!"

"I'm Stitch. Just Stitch," Stitch says.

"Then why do you sound the same?" Stitch asks, sounding like she's about to cry, "Murderers and thieves. Did you steal their voices?"

"This isn't my nightmare," Stitch mumbles.

Picking Up the Pieces

Postby Melody Martens » Sun Sep 25, 2011 1:08 am

Melody, now able to see more clearly, clenched her fists and teeth as she recognized Nina, but she remained silent. The girl, regardless of her home universe, only made her think of the witch she met in the future...the one that she still had nightmares about.

Since no one seemed to be reporting any injuries, Stitch sat down on the ground and buried her face in her knees. She was long overdue for a nice long cry.

Picking Up the Pieces

Postby Melody Martens » Sun Sep 25, 2011 1:15 am

Melody sat in silence, every breath hurting, for quite a while while watching Stitch cry. She had to be different...didn't she?

She gingerly rose from her seated position, every move painful, and walked over to Stitch. "Hey," she said quietly, "are you okay?"

Picking Up the Pieces

Postby Melody Martens » Sun Sep 25, 2011 1:20 am

Melody grimaced and sat down beside the girl, gasping a bit as she tweaked her injured rib in the process. "Is there anything we can do to help? That's...that's what the X-Men do. We help people."

"Not for long," Stitch says, wiping her eyes with her sleeve, "You're hurt."

Stitch reaches out her hand to gently touch Steph's ribs. Almost immediately the pain goes away.

Postby Sara Stanton » Sun Sep 25, 2011 7:46 am

Walking out of a narrow side-tunnel Sara blinks at the comparatively bright sun-light. She's about to turn towards Kelpie to ask her where the others are when she sees movement and shapes further back in the tunnel towards where it collapsed. A bit carefully, just in case, she moves towards them.

Kelpie stepped back, putting one hand on the horse-construct, just watching though whether she was making assessments or just making sure everything was okay was hard to say.
