Doom & Gloom

The underground hide-out is stifling enough as it is but after the arrival of the rescue party even more so. The tunnel outside isn't really much better but at least she doesn't have to listen to everyone out here. Why did they have to send them anyway. Sam was bad enough already, now how many were stranded in this rotten world? She takes a long drag on her cigarette and stares at the curling blue smoke. Wherever Harbinger had been lately, Nailah knew she would be there when they made their move and none of them could hope to stand up to her. The best she could see was sacrificing people so others could make it. She had been willing to brave those odds when the only people accompanying them were Faultline and Legion. Now...

A flap of her wings disturbs the smoke and twirls it away, though the images in her mind remain.

"She just would have caught the both of us." she adds, calming herself down.
