She walked over to him and trailed a finger down his nose, "Oh trust me. I have many delusions, but that is not one of them."

[Apophis]

"I'll be sure to remember that."

[Kelpie]

"Now, what other wildcards are in play that we may need to be dealt with?"

[Apophis]

"The Paladin. He will no doubt try to assist the 'heroes' and in so doing hope to achieve his ridiculous dream of a 'free' society."

[Kelpie]

"Then we need to meet with him as well. Or at least I should."

[Apophis]

"Indeed. He would simply attack me at first opportunity," he said, "Finding him, however, is a challenge."

[Kelpie]

"Put the word out that Kelpie would like to have a word with him. I'm sure you've got the connections to do that. Even if he's not told directly, I'm sure he'll hear about it."

[Apophis]

"Done," he replied. "Meanwhile I'll contact some of my more trusted international associates. They have as much to lose as I do."

[Kelpie]

"Could I prevail upon you for some sort of body armor? I have a feeling if I'm going to be going around meeting with unsavory unpredictable types, I might need more than street clothes."

[Apophis]

"You'll have it within the hour."

[Kelpie]

"I made the right decision not to drown you, I think," she said with a smile. "I think this partnership will be very good for both of us."

[Apophis]

"The future is looking good indeed," he smiled.
