[Narrator]

The gasses deminished....


Then, with a sudden motion, one solidified, and clamped his hands around the other gas, trapping it in a glass container made from his own arms.

"Uncreative philistine..." the one on the outside muttered, flapping wings to try to stay airborne, as he gradually decreased the size of the container.

[Faultline]

Not that it really mattered, seeing how Faultline's shape was massive enough to give Bear enough room to throw past John. Even more so as Faultline started pushing John downwards, the ground under his feet growing less than stable.

[John Hino]

John adjusted his footing and pushed back with even greater force than before, trying to pull Faultine right out of the ground or at least break her arm.

[Will Stanton]

Will (or was it Legion) dove down, glass-gas-box in front, to try to give John a hand...

[Faultline]

Only there was nothing to adjust his footing too. Stone was melting everywhere around him though it wasn't actively drawing him in with Faultline's attention focused on trying to push back against John.

[Byrna Cooper]

"John! dive..Now!"

bear let loose with a furious throw aimed at what passed as Faultline's head, aiming to impact and spread a field of pure cold and ice around her upper body.

[Faultline]

Seeing how John was sinking into the ground it wouldn't be hard for Bear to hit Faultline's head and most of her movement slowly comes to a stop as her stone body freezes, crackling and smoking.

[John Hino]

He took the chance to tear a hand free and strike at Faultline again.

[Faultline]

She tries to block it, but the flash-frozen stone is sluggish and when John's strike connects with her head the stress is too much and a huge portion of Faultline's shape shatters. The remains keep standing, still frozen and not moving.

[Will Stanton]

Will crashlanded nearby, his hands contracting, and then retracting, to reveal a solid black cube.

"Right. Well, then..." he gasped out.

[Byrna Cooper]

Bear, holding two balls and a little skittish, slowly turns around.

"Will?" she asks, tentatively.

[John Hino]

John turned and cast "Will" a suspicious look.

"I sure hope so."

[Janice Gilbertson]

Captain Britain slowly extricated herself from a pile of rubble, groaning.

"...I realize that now that I've said this it'll happen at least one more time before we're done, but I am bloody sick of going through walls."

[Will Stanton]

"'ts my name..." he said, staggering a little.

"Fuck. This place."

[Nick Varkan]

"I'll drink to that," Nick smirked as he landed.

[Will Stanton]

"We don't want to hang around," Will said, ominously. "Not for very long."

[Nick Varkan]

"Agreed," he nodded.

"I can fly people out. Who's up first?"

[Byrna Cooper]

Bear ran over, giving Will a long deserved hug.

"Will, don't ever fight yourself again. okay? Now Head up.."

[Will Stanton]

Will just nodded.

[Janice Gilbertson]

Captain Britain looked skeptically towards Amazon.

"...did we pick someone up?"

[John Hino]

"She showed up with Ronnie... I think."

John tried to move, then looked down.

"Right... feet are stuck," he said before kneeling to punch the ground and pulling his feet free.

"God this place gives me the creeps."

[Daniel Uriel]

"Saved my ass, but that might just be my natural charm at work," Daniel said, dusting himself off as he looked around for anything else that needed a good burning.

[Amazon]

Amazon landed and stretched, popping audibly. "I wouldn't go that far, but yes, I saved your ass. 'Doctor' West was 'kind' enough to let me tag along." There were a few differences, but she would look familiar to Janice at least.

[Janice Gilbertson]

"I guess not everyone here wants to kill us."

[Amazon]

"As I'm not being paid to, I see no reason to," Amazon said with a shrug.

[Janice Gilbertson]

"And what are we supposed to call you?" Captain Britain asked, figuring 'Wanda' was anticlimactic.

[Amazon]

"Most people who care to call me anything call me Amazon. West will tell you I'm a cutthroat, I prefer 'mercenary'."

[Nick Varkan]

"Sun Eater?" Nick asked.

[Amazon]

Amazon made a face, "Ick. No."

[Veronica Freud]

Janice and John weren't the only ones pulling themselves from the rubble. With quite a shakey stance Ronnie got to her feet, not looking quite as massive as she was stooped over and holding her knee.

"Is she... done?" Ronnie asked, pointing at the still-frozen rocky form of Faultline.

[John Hino]

"I believe so, but it's hard to be sure with her powers," John answered with a little guilt in his voice for having to use lethal force.

[Will Stanton]

Will, pointedly, did NOT look.

"C'mon, guys..."

[Nick Varkan]

"Right. Outta here," Nick said, ready to take passengers.

[Isabel Galen]

"Lets get out of here." Isabel agreed.

[Veronica Freud]

Those who weren't looking would hear the crunch of concrete. However she wasn't crushing the frozen form, instead digging under it with both hands. Standing up shakily she held the majority of Faultline in one hand before drawing her arm back and flinging the rocky object as hard as she could. It tumbled through the sky, eventually dipping over the rows of rooftops. After several seconds there came the sound of a very large splash.

"There. Let's hope that buys us some time." She said in a serious tone, leaning against a lamppost as soon as she was small enough. Her leg was still bleeding quite heavily but she had fared better than many of the others.

Melody had a splitting headache, and her accumulation of injuries throughout the day, no matter how miraculously they had been healed by one healer or another, were definitely starting to take their toll on her.

"Yes. Out of here, before something else animates and attacks us," she coughed, as her movement towards the group disturbed the fine layer of dust coating her uniform from shattered lab equipment, drywall, and powdered rock, all victims of explosions, hot knives, and pummeling fists.
