Isabel had plenty of normal-sized Legion targets to choose from, should she so desire. Amazon as well, for that matter.

John was doing a fairly good job at indiscriminately cutting though them.

Nick...was having more problems, as the other medium sized Legion had regrouped and was swooping in from another angle, even as the incendiary caused the other one to break off it's attack run.

"Fuck... should have brought more fire..." Nick muttered, eyes brightened as he teeked a small boulder of debris at the second Legion as if he was wielding a giant mace. Hey, it worked for the lizard right?

Fualtline's eyes dart around, trying to make out the biggest threat in the chaos of people blowing and hacking Legions apart. There were hundreds but they aren't going to last forever at this rate. The stone pillar she's standing 'in' begins to rapidly sink into the ground, slamming down in a shockwave spreading around her as her frame bulks up, arms growing into blades as she stomps towards John. Passing by Isabel she ignores her, knowing better than to give her something to work with by injuring the woman.

"Start falling back. Use sonic weaponry to disrupt pursuit," Paladin said into his headset before interposing himself between Faultline and John.

"Where do you think you're going, Faultline?" Paladin asked.

"Look at that. Decided to lower yourself to our level and get your hands dirty?"

She doesn't wait for an answer, slamming her fists into the ground and sending a ridge of spikes erupting along the ground towards Paladin.

Paladin sidesteps the ridge of spikes while charging towards Faultline

"I lower myself to lift you out of the abyss," Paladin said charging towards Faultline to eliminate her advantage in ranged combat. As he charges the light along one arm forms into a blade and if she doesn't move he swings it towards Faultlines chest.

The blade passes through her torso with little resistance, the rock glowing where the light slices the stone apart. The expression on her face freezes and after a second the upper section of her body begins to slide and fall off, cracking as it hits the ground. And that is when a section of the floor behind Paladin surges up and before it can take any real shape the massive stone-tentacle swings around, aiming to slam into him.

Paladin forms a shield in time to not get crushed by the blow. However, the sheer power behind the blow causes the shield to hit Paladin which causes him to stumble backwards smoke rising off his shoulder plate where the psychic energy actually slagged a chunk of it.

Faultline isn't about to let up and the stone-pillar rushes towards him, though it's less than solid, constantly shifting in an attempt to flow around him and entrap him in the stone.

"What a disappointment..." Faultline snipes, growing out of the floor a couple meters away, the stone surrounding Paladin constricting unpleasantly.

The stone didn't contract under he will then began to crack. Light poured from the fissures before the stone shell exploded apart. Stone dissolved midair in the explosion of psychic energy. Through that explosion came Paladin charging towards Faultline at inhuman speed both arms ending in blades of psychic energy.

"You cannot stop the light, abomination," Paladin growled.

Surprised and disoriented by the blast Faultline tries to throw up a wall between her and Paladin.

John had circled behind Faultline, and took the chance to try and slam her into Paladin's onslaught.

Faultline stumbles forward, reflexively trying to spin around trying to strike back at John when Paladin is on her, his blades slicing through her shoulder. She lets out a wailing scream as her left arm falls to the floor, turning back to flesh once it's separated from her. Stumbling to the side she stares at the spot where her arm should be. And with a primal scream the entire floor in a radius around her explodes into stalagmites before turning into a chaotically shifting funnel, threatening to draw anyone nearby into it, though it's uncontrolled and not specifically trying to do so.

Paladin didn't get the opportunity to admire his handi-work before being hit in the chest by a stalagmite which fortunately did not pierce his body armor though it had cracked a rib or two. As the funnel formed Paladin jumped onto a stalagmite to avoid being drawn into it. He began leaping between the stalagmites as he tried to clear the hazard Faultline had created.

Melody started falling back as directed by the strange newcomer who'd arrived with her teammates, and tried modifying her bombs to create a lot more sound when they burst into the legion..

John was hit hard but, while tough enough to be unharmed, was not agile enough to avoid getting caught in the funnel's pull. He scrambled to pull himself free.

Melody's new bombs were working quite well--she would find she could create a path in almost any which direction she chose.

The Legion Izzy grabbed screamed in agony as his flesh curdled and singed.

Nick swung his mace....but this time, it got stuck INSIDE the Legion, who grinned a horrible grin at him as the second came from behind...

Melody focused her effort on clearing a path towards the only exit she could see, whipping her head around to make sure that nothing was sneaking up on her, and that at least a few of her teammates were following.

She saw Nick get his weapon stuck inside a Legion as another one snuck up on him, and cried out, "Nick! Behind you!" too late to do anything else.

Stephanie wrenched a metal conduit from the wall with a snarl and dashed to the edge of the vortex, extending it towards John.

"John! Grab on!" she yelled over the din of explosions, screaming, and battle.

Veronica really should have come up with a better plan. If she had worked more with her teammates she wouldn't have been in the situation she found herself; hands bound and throat grasped. At the very least she was keeping a huge portion of the Legion blob at bay. This called for a retreat while she could still move her legs. Instead of pressing and fighting into the massive form as she had been she began pulling back, her massive feet digging into the earth as she tried to rip herself free.

Unfortunately, that direction happened to be where Faultline and others were fighting.

From where Daniel lay on the floor, four Legions circled, grinning, their fingers turning into blades...

NICK
Nick dove downwards at tremendous speeds...causing the two Legions to SMASH into each other with a shuddering crack! And now BOTH...or, rather, just one large one...was on fire....and it turned, and it cursed at Nick---turning into a near-literal FLOOD of water, gushing down towards him.

"There!" Will shouted, and dashed across the room, dodging several infights as he went...and dove into the giant Legion's calf, forcing his way upwards.

The clay parted for him....at least at first...and then the going got tougher, but he kept swimming his way through, until he finally reached Bear.

He pressed his lips to hers, letting part of his internal structure become pure oxygen, and blew.

Bear's eyes snapped open, as she began to regain her strength.

Finally, with an angry look (for Bear) she drew her right arm back into a throwing position, her fingers tensing.

Her eyes began glowing violet, and a rippling began to coalesce through the Legion mass, flowing into her throwing hand...

and then with explosive force, she threw. hard.

Nick's bubble was keeping the water out! Yay!

...but the water formed it's own bubble AROUND him, and it rapidly began shifting compositions to various acids and solvents, trying to find a crack in the shield, straining to him to his limit.

BEAR

The ball went a good ten feet...and then stopped , as Legion reformed around it, solidifying to keep it from penetrating...but not in time, for a crack to appear, exposing that glorious, glorious air!
