Seeing Daniel lying on the ground, Amazon guessed the distance and took off like a shot, speeding downward attempting to snatch him from between the Legions at speed. It might hurt him a little, but it beat getting sliced and diced.

Not wanting to lose any chance at getting a shot at the Legions, Daniel snapped up in Amazon's fist, throwing a fistful of hotknives back at the Legions.

He slammed up another shield.

"Fine ya fucker, let's see if you like this..." he said, spreading out his remaining grenades around the edges of the sphere. He put his fingers in his ears, activated every grenade, and sent them riding on the wake of another spherical blast.

Spotting Ronnie fighting her most prized possession she quickly forgets about Paladin and John. The shifting chaos around her jerks inward and then freezes as Faultline launches herself towards the back of Ronnie's knee. She's barely humanoid, basically just a massive, shifting lump of stone aiming to cling to the giant and drive spikes of stone into her.

The blades never got a chance to reach Amazon, as Daniel's hotknives cut through the Legions like, uh, hot...knives. Through butter.

Veronica was so absorbed in trying to rip herself from Legion's grasp that Faultline's attack caught her completely by surprise. Had she known she might have been able to block or deflect the blow. But she hadn't and was hit with the full force of the stone missile. Her massive voice cried out in pain at the blow as the spikes tore through her uniform and drove into her flesh. The impact at the back of her knee buckled it, throwing her completely off balance. She fell backward, her massive weight pulling her away from the massive Legion blob even with it holding onto her, sending her collapsing toward the rubble behind her.

The shadow falling over some of her comrades did not bode well at all.

Assuming they wouldn't stay acid for long, Nick took the pieces of Legion out through the broken ceiling and flung them as far apart as he could manage. This is, of course, after flinging a few globs at expensive-looking equipment.

Bear set the fuse on the sonic grenade and left it in place as she pulled out a grapple ball and squeezed out the opening Will had pried open.

"Jump.. jump!" she exclaimed, latching on the grapple and falling off the mass of Legion.

There was a pause, a silent pause...

and then, from inside the mass of Legion, an echoing shockwave erupted from inside the Legion, shattering his torso, and causing clay to fly everywhere, as, from the top down to the waist, the mass melted down, like a candle in high-speed.

The shockwave might well blow any fliers off course.

Disengaging from the falling giant Faultline seems satisfied with having brought her down (for now anyway) and lands next to Ronnie, taking on a slightly more humanoid shape again. As the giant Legion melts from the sonic blast her eyes dart around, trying to find the one responsible and spots Bear swinging away from the melting goo. Melting into the ground she seems to just be gone for now. Until after a while Bear's grapple gets sucked into the wall where it attached, reeling her in.

Amazon got caught in the shockwave, and was blown back into a wall. She impacted hard against her back and cratered the wall very slightly. She blinked, "Okay... that hurt." Miraculously, she was still holding on to Daniel, but it wouldn't take much to get out of her grip at the moment.

Nick had been flying back in when the shockwave blew him off-course, very nearly being impaled on a piece of metal hanging from the ceiling as he regained control.

"Holy shit that was close..." he said before diving back into the fight.

The interior of the remnants of the Giant Legion Blob quivered....and out the top burst what looked like an enormous drill...which was caught by a tendril, and yanked back inside, causing more rapid quivering and bulging...

The force of Ronnie's body hitting the rubble and concrete with such a thunderous force that any window panes that remained in the tri-block area were shattered. She grabbed her knee and rolled onto her side, too concerned with her own pain to notice the little ones around her. It took her a few moments before the adrenaline let her push the pain aside, shakily pulling herself up to her feet.

"Ugh, my ass and back feels wet. I didn't..." She tries to check her backside for blood and remains, only able to see a mixture of grey goo from countless Legion drones with pieces of concrete embedded in them.

From the remaining Legion mass, a burst of water emerged...and the restofthe Legion turned into another pool of water, trying to catch it.

Then the first turned into a gas, and the second imitated him, as they raced at high speed above the masses below.

bear was quickly yanked against the wall, she was barely able to plant her feet against the wall before releasing her grapple, it disappearing into the wall.

he then flipped and landed on the ground on her feet, glancing back and forth, looking for Faultline to make her next move.

And she did. In a wide circle around Bear and John spikes erupt almost randomly before Faultline bursts from the ground, immediately taking a swing at the two.

Through training and reflex, Bear jumped and somersaulted, throwing a directed explosive ball at Faultline's planted knee before landing and maneuvering to get some distance, leaving John to do some up close clobbering.

John was significantly less agile, but his brute strength made up for it. He brought up his arms to block the stone arm, his clawed feet leaving deep gashes in the ground as the force of the blow shoved back. He immediately countered with a punch of his own.

Faultline doesn't seem to bother to block his punch, just letting it take out a chunk of stone while Bear's explosive balls takes out an even bigger chunk that slowly starts to fill in again as Faultline rips out a chunk of ground and throws it at Bear.
